How to choose a web design agency in Singapore, if you run a clinic

What to ask a Singapore web design agency before hiring them for a clinic or beauty website: compliance, ownership, booking, SEO, pricing and contracts.

Key points
  • Ask who owns the domain and the site
  • Ask how they handle MOH advertising rules
  • Compare monthly fees, not just build fees
  • Look at sites they've built for clinics like yours

There are hundreds of web design agencies in Singapore, and most can build an attractive website. Far fewer understand what a clinic website has to do: answer careful medical questions, follow the Healthcare Services (Advertisement) Regulations, and turn visits into consultations. These are the questions to ask before you sign.

1. Have you built websites for clinics like mine?

Ask for live links, not mock-ups. Open them on your phone. Check whether each treatment has its own page, whether doctors have proper profiles, and whether you can book in under a minute. A portfolio of restaurants and law firms tells you little about how they will handle your treatment pages. You can see ours on the work page.

2. How do you handle MOH advertising rules?

A good answer mentions before-and-after photos, testimonials, superlatives and prescription medicines without prompting, and explains that your medical director signs off final copy. A vague answer (“we'll make sure it's compliant”) usually means they will copy salon marketing onto a clinic site.

3. Who owns the domain, the hosting account and the website?

The domain should be registered in your business's name, and you should be able to take the site with you if you leave. Some agencies keep the domain or build on a proprietary platform that cannot be moved. Ask directly, and get the answer in the contract.

4. What will it cost over three years?

Compare the total, not the build fee. A cheap build with an expensive monthly plan can cost more than a higher build fee with modest care. Ask what the monthly fee covers: hosting, updates, backups, content changes, SEO and reporting. Our prices are published in full for this reason.

5. How will patients book?

Ask whether they can connect your clinic system (for example Plato), WhatsApp and an enquiry form, and whether enquiries reach your team reliably. Ask to see the enquiry email format.

6. What happens after launch?

Websites don't rank because they launch. Ask how they research keywords, how many articles or pages they add each month, and what the monthly report contains. Ask for an example report.

7. What does the timeline look like?

Ask for a week-by-week plan and what they need from you. Most delays come from waiting on content and photos, so a good agency writes the first drafts for you.

Red flags

  • Guaranteed first-page rankings
  • Before-and-after galleries in their clinic portfolio
  • No published prices and no written scope
  • The agency registers the domain in its own name
  • Long contracts with no exit clause

Questions

How much do Singapore web design agencies charge for a clinic website?

From what agencies publish, small template sites start from about S$2,500, while custom bilingual builds with booking and SEO usually run past S$10,000. Our packages are S$3,800, S$7,800 and S$14,800.

Should I hire a freelancer or an agency?

A freelancer can work for a simple site. For a clinic that needs treatment pages, compliance review, booking and ongoing SEO, an agency with healthcare experience usually saves time and risk.
