Google Ads for clinics in Singapore: policies that trip clinics up

How Google's healthcare ad policies and Singapore's MOH advertising rules affect aesthetic clinic Google Ads, and how to set up compliant, effective campaigns.

Key points
  • Two rulebooks apply: Google's and MOH's
  • Prescription drug terms get ads disapproved
  • Landing pages are judged too
  • Treatment-level campaigns perform best

Google Ads can bring a clinic consultations within days, but healthcare is one of Google's most restricted categories, and Singapore adds its own advertising rules on top.

Two rulebooks

Google's healthcare and medicines policy controls what can be advertised and how. MOH's Healthcare Services (Advertisement) Regulations control what licensed clinics may say in any advertisement, including ads. Both apply, and the stricter one wins.

Prescription medicines

Ads that mention prescription-only medicines, such as botulinum toxin brand names, are commonly disapproved and are restricted by Singapore law. Describe treatments in general terms instead, such as “anti-wrinkle injections”, and keep promotional pricing out.

Ad copy

  • No superlatives (“best”, “No. 1”)
  • No promised results
  • No urgency (“today only”)
  • No before-and-after imagery in image assets

Landing pages

Google reviews the page an ad leads to. A treatment page with facts, risks, doctor credentials and a clear booking path passes review more easily and converts better than a home page.

Campaign structure

Run one campaign per profitable treatment, with its own budget, keywords and landing page. Track calls, WhatsApp clicks and form submissions as conversions.

Budget

We usually suggest starting at S$2,000 a month in ad spend for an aesthetic clinic in Singapore, plus management. See our Google Ads service.

Questions

Why was my clinic's Google ad disapproved?

Common causes are prescription drug terms, unverifiable claims, or a landing page that breaks Google's healthcare policy.

Can I advertise prices in Google Ads?

Avoid promotional pricing for medical treatments, and never advertise prices for prescription-only medicines.
